முதல் வாசகம்

இறைப் பற்றின்றி இருக்க, ஆண்டவர் யாருக்கும் கற்பிக்கவில்லை.

சீராக்கின் ஞான நூலிலிருந்து வாசகம் 15: 15-20

நீ விரும்பினால் கட்டளைகளைக் கடைப்பிடி; பற்றுறுதியுடன் நடப்பது உனது விருப்பத்தைப் பொறுத்தது. உனக்குமுன் நீரையும் நெருப்பையும் அவர் வைத்துள்ளார்; உன் கையை நீட்டி உனக்கு விருப்பமானதை எடுத்துக்கொள். மனிதர்முன் வாழ்வும் சாவும் வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. எதை அவர்கள் விரும்புகிறார்களோ அதுவே அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படும். ஆண்டவரின் ஞானம் பெரிது. அவர் ஆற்றல்மிக்கவர்; அனைத்தையும் அவர் காண்கிறார். ஆண்டவருக்கு அஞ்சி நடப்போர் மீது அவரது பார்வை இருக்கும்; மனிதரின் செயல்கள் அனைத்தையும் அவர் அறிவார். இறைப் பற்றின்றி இருக்க யாருக்கும் ஆண்டவர் கட்டளையிட்டதில்லை; பாவம் செய்ய எவருக்கும் அவர் அனுமதி கொடுத்ததுமில்லை.

1. மாசற்ற வழியில் நடப்போர் பேறுபெற்றோர்; ஆண்டவர் திருச்சட்டப்படி நடப்போர் பேறுபெற்றோர்.

2. அவர் தந்த ஒழுங்குமுறைகளைக் கடைப்பிடிப்போர் பேறு பெற்றோர்; முழுமனத்தோடு அவரைத் தேடுவோர் பேறுபெற்றோர். - பல்லவி

4. ஆண்டவரே! நீர் உம் நியமங்களைத் தந்தீர்; அவற்றை நாங்கள் முழுமையாய்க் கடைப்பிடிக்க வேண்டும் என்றீர்.

இரண்டாம் வாசகம்

உலகம் தோன்றும் முன்பே ஞானம் கடவுளின் திட்டத்தில் இருந்தது.

திருத்தூதர் பவுல் கொரிந்தியருக்கு எழுதிய முதல் திருமுகத்திலிருந்து வாசகம் 2: 6-10

சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே,

முதிர்ச்சி பெற்றவர்களோடு நாங்கள் ஞானத்தைப் பற்றிப் பேசுகிறோம். ஆனால் இது உலக ஞானம் அல்ல; உலகத் தலைவர்களின் ஞானமும் அல்ல. அவர்கள் அழிவுக்குரியவர்கள்.

வெளிப்படுத்தப்படாமல் மறைபொருளாய் இருக்கும் இறை ஞானத்தைப் பற்றியே நாங்கள் பேசுகிறோம். அது நாம் மேன்மை பெறவேண்டும் என்னும் நோக்குடன் உலகம் தோன்றும் முன்பே கடவுளின் திட்டத்தில் இருந்தது. இவ்வுலகத் தலைவர்கள் எவரும் அதை அறிந்துகொள்ளவில்லை. அறிந்திருந்தால், அவர்கள் மாட்சிக்குரிய ஆண்டவரைச் சிலுவையில் அறைந்திருக்க மாட்டார்கள். ஆனால் மறைநூலில் எழுதியுள்ளவாறு, “தம்மிடம் அன்புகொள்ளுகிறவர்களுக்கு என்று கடவுள் ஏற்பாடு செய்தவை கண்ணுக்குப் புலப்படவில்லை; செவிக்கு எட்டவில்லை; மனித உள்ளமும் அதை அறியவில்லை."

இதைக் கடவுள் தூய ஆவியாரின் வழியாக நமக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தினார். தூய ஆவியாரே அனைத்தையும் துருவி ஆய்கிறார்; கடவுளின் ஆழ்ந்த எண்ணங்களையும் அறிகிறார்.

ஆண்டவரின் அருள்வாக்கு.

நற்செய்திக்கு முன் வாழ்த்தொலி

அல்லேலூயா, அல்லேலூயா! தந்தையே, விண்ணுக்கும் மண்ணுக்கும் ஆண்டவரே, உம்மைப் போற்றுகிறேன். ஏனெனில் ஞானிகளுக்கும் அறிஞர்களுக்கும் இவற்றை மறைத்துக் குழந்தைகளுக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தினீர். அல்லேலூயா.

இறைவாக்குகளை நிறைவேற்றுவதற்கே வந்தேன்.

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு தம் சீடரை நோக்கிக் கூறியது: “திருச்சட்டத்தையோ இறைவாக்குகளையோ நான் அழிக்க வந்தேன் என நீங்கள் எண்ண வேண்டாம்; அவற்றை அழிப்பதற்கல்ல, நிறைவேற்றுவதற்கே வந்தேன். விண்ணும் மண்ணும் ஒழிந்து போகுமுன் திருச்சட்டம் யாவும் நிறைவேறும். அதன் ஒரு சிற்றெழுத்தோ ஒரு புள்ளியோ ஒழியாது என உறுதியாக உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

எனவே, இக்கட்டளைகளில் மிகச் சிறியது ஒன்றையேனும் மீறி அவ்வாறே மக்களுக்கும் கற்பிக்கிறவர் விண்ணரசில் மிகச் சிறியவர் எனக் கருதப்படுவார். இவை அனைத்தையும் கடைப்பிடித்துக் கற்பிக்கிறவரோ விண்ணரசில் பெரியவர் எனக் கருதப்படுவார். மறைநூல் அறிஞர், பரிசேயர் ஆகியோரின் நெறியைவிட உங்கள் நெறி சிறந்திருக்கட்டும். இல்லையெனில், நீங்கள் விண்ணரசுக்குள் புக முடியாது என உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்.”

“கொலை செய்யாதே; கொலை செய்கிறவர் எவரும் தண்டனைத் தீர்ப்புக்கு ஆளாவர்” என்று முற்காலத்தவர்க்குக் கூறப்பட்டிருப்பதைக் கேள்விப்பட்டிருக்கிறீர்கள். ஆனால் நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்: “தம் சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளிடம் சினங்கொள்கிறவர் தண்டனைத் தீர்ப்புக்கு ஆளாவார்; தம் சகோதரரையோ சகோதரியையோ ‘முட்டாளே’ என்பவர் தலைமைச் சங்கத் தீர்ப்புக்கு ஆளாவார்; ‘அறிவிலியே’ என்பவர் எரிநரகத்துக்கு ஆளாவார்.

ஆகையால் நீங்கள் உங்கள் காணிக்கையைப் பலிபீடத்தில் செலுத்த வரும்பொழுது உங்கள் சகோதரர் சகோதரிகள் எவருக்கும் உங்கள் மேல் ஏதோ மனத்தாங்கல் உண்டென அங்கே நினைவுற்றால், அங்கேயே பலி பீடத்தின்முன் உங்கள் காணிக்கையை வைத்துவிட்டுப் போய் முதலில் அவரிடம் நல்லுறவு ஏற்படுத்திக் கொள்ளுங்கள். பின்பு வந்து உங்கள் காணிக்கையைச் செலுத்துங்கள்.

உங்கள் எதிரி உங்களை நீதி மன்றத்துக்குக் கூட்டிச் செல்லும்போது வழியிலேயே அவருடன் விரைவாக உடன்பாடு செய்துகொள்ளுங்கள். இல்லையேல் உங்கள் எதிரி நடுவரிடம் உங்களை ஒப்படைப்பார். நடுவர் காவலரிடம் ஒப்படைக்க, நீங்கள் சிறையில் அடைக்கப்படுவீர்கள். கடைசிக் காசு வரை திருப்பிச் செலுத்தாமல் அங்கிருந்து வெளியேற மாட்டீர்கள் என உறுதியாக உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்.”

“ ‘விபசாரம் செய்யாதே’ எனக் கூறப்பட்டிருப்பதைக் கேள்விப் பட்டிருக்கிறீர்கள். ஆனால், நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்: ஒரு பெண்ணை இச்சையுடன் நோக்கும் எவரும் தம் உள்ளத்தால் ஏற்கெனவே அப்பெண்ணோடு விபசாரம் செய்தாயிற்று.

உங்கள் வலக்கண் உங்களைப் பாவத்தில் விழச்செய்தால் அதைப் பிடுங்கி எறிந்து விடுங்கள். உங்கள் உடல் முழுவதும் நரகத்தில் எறியப்படுவதைவிட உங்கள் உறுப்புகளில் ஒன்றை நீங்கள் இழப்பதே நல்லது. உங்கள் வலக்கை உங்களைப் பாவத்தில் விழச்செய்தால் அதையும் உங்களிடமிருந்து வெட்டி எறிந்து விடுங்கள். உங்கள் உடல் முழுவதும் நரகத்திற்குச் செல்வதைவிட உங்கள் உறுப்புகளில் ஒன்றை நீங்கள் இழப்பதே நல்லது.

‘தன் மனைவியை விலக்கி விடுகிறவன் எவனும் மணவிலக்குச் சான்றிதழைக் கொடுக்கட்டும்’ எனக் கூறப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. ஆனால் நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்: எவரும் தம் மனைவியைப் பரத்தைமைக்காக அன்றி வேறு எந்தக் காரணத்திற்காகவும் விலக்கிவிடக் கூடாது. அப்படிச் செய்வோர் எவரும் அவரை விபசாரத்தில் ஈடுபடச் செய்கின்றனர். விலக்கப்பட்டோரை மணப்போரும் விபசாரம் செய்கின்றனர்.”

“மேலும், ‘ பொய்யாணை இடாதீர். ஆணையிட்டு நேர்ந்துகொண்டதை ஆண்டவருக்குச் செலுத்துவீர்’ என்று முற்காலத்தவர்க்குக் கூறப் பட்டிருப்பதைக் கேள்விப்பட்டிருக்கிறீர்கள். ஆனால் நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்: ஆணையிடவே வேண்டாம். விண்ணுலகின் மேலும் ஆணையிட வேண்டாம்; ஏனென்றால் அது கடவுளின் அரியணை. மண்ணுலகின் மேலும் வேண்டாம்; ஏனெனில் அது அவரின் கால்மணை. எருசலேம் மேலும் வேண்டாம்; ஏனெனில் அது பேரரசரின் நகரம். உங்கள் தலைமுடியின் மேலும் ஆணையிட வேண்டாம்; ஏனெனில் உங்கள் தலைமுடி ஒன்றையேனும் வெள்ளையாக்கவோ கறுப்பாக்கவோ உங்களால் இயலாது.

ஆகவே நீங்கள் பேசும்போது ‘ஆம்’ என்றால் ‘ஆம்’ எனவும் ‘இல்லை’ என்றால் ‘இல்லை’ எனவும் சொல்லுங்கள். இதைவிட மிகுதியாகச் சொல்வது எதுவும் தீயோனிடத்திலிருந்து வருகிறது.”

இது கிறிஸ்து வழங்கும் நற்செய்தி.

FIRST READING

“He did not command anyone to be impious”

Reading the book of Ben Sira the Wise 15, 15-20

If you want, you can keep the commandments,
it depends on your choice to remain faithful.
    The Lord has placed water and fire before you:
stretch out your hand towards what you prefer.
    Life and death are offered to men,
one or the other is given to them according to their choice.
    For the wisdom of the Lord is great,
strong is his power, and he sees everything.
    His gaze is turned towards those who fear him,
he knows all the actions of men.
    He didn't command anyone to be ungodly,
he didn't give anyone permission to sin.

"The wisdom that God had planned before the ages to give us glory"

Reading of the first letter of Saint Paul the Apostle to the Corinthians 2, 6-10

Brethren,
    it is indeed wisdom that we speak
before those who are adults in the faith,
but it is not the wisdom of this world,
the wisdom of those who rule this world
and who are going to destroy it.
    On the contrary, what we are talking about
is the wisdom of the mystery of God,
wisdom kept hidden,
established by him before the ages,
to give us glory.
    None of those who rule this world have known it,
for if they had known it,
they would never have crucified the Lord of glory.
    But what we proclaim is, as the scripture says,
what eye has not seen,
what ear has not heard,
what has not occurred to man,
what God has prepared for those by whom he is loved.
    And it is to us that God, by the Spirit, has revealed it.
For the Spirit searches the bottom of all things,
even the depths of God.

“It was said to the Elders. Well ! I say to you”

Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 5, 17-37

At that time,
Jesus said to his disciples:
    “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets:
I have not come to abolish, but to fulfil.
    Amen, I say to you:
Before heaven and earth disappear,
not one iota, not one trait will disappear from the Law
until all is fulfilled.
    So whoever rejects
one of these lesser commandments,
and teaches men to do so,
will be declared the least in the kingdom of heaven.
But whoever observes them and teaches them,
he will be declared great in the kingdom of heaven.
    I tell you in fact:
If your justice does not surpass that of the scribes and Pharisees,
you will not enter the kingdom of Heaven.

You have learned that it was said to the elders:
Thou shalt not commit murder,
and if anyone commits murder
he must stand trial.
    Well ! I say to you:
Anyone who is angry with his brother
must be judged.
If someone insults his brother,
he will have to go to court.
If anyone calls him crazy,
he will be liable to hellfire.
    So when you go to present your offering at the altar,
if there you remember that your brother has something against you,
    leave your offering there before the altar,
first go and be reconciled to your brother,
and then come and present your offering.
    Quickly come to an agreement with your adversary
while you are on the way with him,
to prevent your adversary from handing you over to the judge,
the judge to custody,
and being thrown into prison.
    Amen, I tell you:
you will not get out
of it until you have paid every penny.

    You have learned that it was said:
Thou shalt not commit adultery.
    Well ! I say to you:
Every man who looks at a woman with lust
has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
    If your right eye causes you to fall,
pluck it
out and throw it away from you,
for it is better for you to lose one of your limbs
than to have your whole body thrown into Gehenna.
    And if your right hand causes you to fall,
cut it off
and throw it away from you,
for it is better for you to lose one of your limbs
than to have your whole body go into Gehenna.
    It has also been said:
If anyone sends away his wife,
let him give him an act of repudiation.
    Well ! I say to you:
Every man who sends his wife away,
except in cases of illegitimate union,
pushes her to adultery;
and if anyone marries an expelled woman,
he is adultery.
You have also learned that it was said to the elders:
You shall not break your oaths,
but you shall keep your oaths to the Lord.
    Well ! I tell you not to swear at all,
neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God,
    nor by the earth, for it is his footstool,
nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
    And don't swear on your head either,
because you can't
make a single hair of yours white or black.

PREMIÈRE LECTURE

« Il n’a commandé à personne d’être impie »

Lecture du livre de Ben Sira le Sage 15, 15-20

Si tu le veux, tu peux observer les commandements,
il dépend de ton choix de rester fidèle.
    Le Seigneur a mis devant toi l’eau et le feu :
étends la main vers ce que tu préfères.
    La vie et la mort sont proposées aux hommes,
l’une ou l’autre leur est donnée selon leur choix.
    Car la sagesse du Seigneur est grande,
fort est son pouvoir, et il voit tout.
    Ses regards sont tournés vers ceux qui le craignent,
il connaît toutes les actions des hommes.
    Il n’a commandé à personne d’être impie,
il n’a donné à personne la permission de pécher.

    – Parole du Seigneur.

Refrain : Heureux ceux qui marchent
suivant la loi du Seigneur !

Heureux les hommes intègres dans leurs voies

« La sagesse que Dieu avait prévue dès avant les siècles pour nous donner la gloire »

Lecture de la première lettre de saint Paul apôtre aux Corinthiens 2, 6-10

Frères,
    c’est bien de sagesse que nous parlons
devant ceux qui sont adultes dans la foi,
mais ce n’est pas la sagesse de ce monde,
la sagesse de ceux qui dirigent ce monde
et qui vont à leur destruction.
    Au contraire, ce dont nous parlons,
c’est de la sagesse du mystère de Dieu,
sagesse tenue cachée,
établie par lui dès avant les siècles,
pour nous donner la gloire.
    Aucun de ceux qui dirigent ce monde ne l’a connue,
car, s’ils l’avaient connue,
ils n’auraient jamais crucifié le Seigneur de gloire.
    Mais ce que nous proclamons, c’est, comme dit l’Écriture :
ce que l’œil n’a pas vu,
ce que l’oreille n’a pas entendu,
ce qui n’est pas venu à l’esprit de l’homme,
ce que Dieu a préparé pour ceux dont il est aimé.
    Et c’est à nous que Dieu, par l’Esprit, en a fait la révélation.
Car l’Esprit scrute le fond de toutes choses,
même les profondeurs de Dieu.

Tu es béni, Père,
Seigneur du ciel et de la terre,
tu as révélé aux tout-petits
les mystères du Royaume !

« Il a été dit aux Anciens. Eh bien ! moi, je vous dis »

Évangile de Jésus Christ selon saint Matthieu 5, 17-37

En ce temps-là,
Jésus disait à ses disciples :
    « Ne pensez pas que je sois venu abolir la Loi ou les Prophètes :
je ne suis pas venu abolir, mais accomplir.
    Amen, je vous le dis :
Avant que le ciel et la terre disparaissent,
pas un seul iota, pas un seul trait ne disparaîtra de la Loi
jusqu’à ce que tout se réalise.
    Donc, celui qui rejettera
un seul de ces plus petits commandements,
et qui enseignera aux hommes à faire ainsi,
sera déclaré le plus petit dans le royaume des Cieux.
Mais celui qui les observera et les enseignera,
celui-là sera déclaré grand dans le royaume des Cieux.
    Je vous le dis en effet :
Si votre justice ne surpasse pas celle des scribes et des pharisiens,
vous n’entrerez pas dans le royaume des Cieux.

    Vous avez appris qu’il a été dit aux anciens :
Tu ne commettras pas de meurtre,
et si quelqu’un commet un meurtre,
il devra passer en jugement.
    Eh bien ! moi, je vous dis :
Tout homme qui se met en colère contre son frère
devra passer en jugement.
Si quelqu’un insulte son frère,
il devra passer devant le tribunal.
Si quelqu’un le traite de fou,
il sera passible de la géhenne de feu.
    Donc, lorsque tu vas présenter ton offrande à l’autel,
si, là, tu te souviens que ton frère a quelque chose contre toi,
laisse ton offrande, là, devant l’autel,
va d’abord te réconcilier avec ton frère,
et ensuite viens présenter ton offrande.
    Mets-toi vite d’accord avec ton adversaire
pendant que tu es en chemin avec lui,
pour éviter que ton adversaire ne te livre au juge,
le juge au garde,
et qu’on ne te jette en prison.
    Amen, je te le dis :
tu n’en sortiras pas
avant d’avoir payé jusqu’au dernier sou.

    Vous avez appris qu’il a été dit :
Tu ne commettras pas d’adultère.
    Eh bien ! moi, je vous dis :
Tout homme qui regarde une femme avec convoitise
a déjà commis l’adultère avec elle dans son cœur.
    Si ton œil droit entraîne ta chute,
arrache-le
et jette-le loin de toi,
car mieux vaut pour toi perdre un de tes membres
que d’avoir ton corps tout entier jeté dans la géhenne.
    Et si ta main droite entraîne ta chute,
coupe-la
et jette-la loin de toi,
car mieux vaut pour toi perdre un de tes membres
que d’avoir ton corps tout entier qui s’en aille dans la géhenne.
    Il a été dit également :
Si quelqu’un renvoie sa femme,
qu’il lui donne un acte de répudiation.
    Eh bien ! moi, je vous dis :
Tout homme qui renvoie sa femme,
sauf en cas d’union illégitime,
la pousse à l’adultère ;
et si quelqu’un épouse une femme renvoyée,
il est adultère.
Vous avez encore appris qu’il a été dit aux anciens :
Tu ne manqueras pas à tes serments,
mais tu t’acquitteras de tes serments envers le Seigneur.
    Eh bien ! moi, je vous dis de ne pas jurer du tout,
ni par le ciel, car c’est le trône de Dieu,
    ni par la terre, car elle est son marchepied,
ni par Jérusalem, car elle est la Ville du grand Roi.
    Et ne jure pas non plus sur ta tête,
parce que tu ne peux pas
rendre un seul de tes cheveux blanc ou noir.
    Que votre parole soit ‘oui’, si c’est ‘oui’,
‘non’, si c’est ‘non’.
Ce qui est en plus
vient du Mauvais. »
